Stardust Lilith >>PHOTOS<<
American Trakehner mare, born 2002, stands 17h

We bought Stardust Lilith - “Lily” as a yearling in 2003. At that time we were impressed with her already obvious athleticism,  rhythm, and frame.  Apart from her interesting genetics, she is a very talented riding horse with excellent movement and very good jumping abilities. She was started under saddle right before her first pregnancy and brought back after weaning and successfully showed at the Heidelberg Cup in 2009.

Offspring:

Inspection scores ATA: 8,8,7/8,7,7/8 (53 points), Reserve High Score of the show

Trakehner mare family of O200A1 Silja (USA)

The dam:

The mare family of Stardust Lilith is that of O200A Sarona II (Kriegsheim - Husenhof), a small former East Prussian family established by a private stud prior to World War II. A new branch of this family was founded in the United States by the mare Silja by Magnet *E*. “Lily's” dam Savannah is a daughter of the important Trakehner stallion Falke, who was born in Germany and after many successful years as a sire at Gestüt Hämelschenburg, was sold to the US. Savannah is a very successful brood mare in North America. She is dam to Spinnaker (full brother to Lily), who competed up to Inter I level in dressage. Savannah is also dam of the ATA Reserve Champion mare Sierra Mardel (by Leonidas *Pg*), and the brood mare Sevilla (also full sister to Lily), who produced the successful 4th level dressage mare Serralinde (by Garibaldi) as well as the ATA Inspection Champion mare Strieste (by Windwalzer *Pg*).

Falke competed at S level in dressage with Christian Pläge after winning his 100 day test as a young stallion. As a sire, Falke produced the approved sons Egmont, Maiklang and Eisenerz, but is best known for his many outstanding daughters such as Kapstadt, dam of the German major sire Kostolany. The elite mare Etana established a good branch of her family in Germany, which produced several premium mares and competition horses in dressage as well as the approved stallions Emerson, Excalibur (premium), Eveiro and Editorial (Res Champ NMS 2007). Falke's daughter Farn was dam of the approved Farnesco, and Luci by Falke produced the excellent mare Lena II, who has sent elite auction horses to Hanover and Neumünster year after year,, including the riding horse champion Ludwig and the approved stallion Lichtenfels. Thiara by Falke is dam of the German elite mare Thirza, who produced FEI dressage horses and the approved Trocadero (Res Champ NMS 1996).

The lesser known stallion Hexenmeister was a direct maternal grand son of the East Prussian foundation mare Bea (Count zu Dohna Schlobitten), a mare that founded one of the most proven sport horse lines in the Trakehner breed with international competitors in both dressage and show jumping. Hexenmeister's sire Prusso was a direct son of the major sire Totilas, the most important stallion during the reconstruction years of the breed after World War II. Finally, with Magnet *E* and the impeccable Carajan, two highly proven sport horse producers round out this interesting pedigree.

The sire:

The combination of Enrico Caruso *Ps*E* as the sire on top of a Falke daughter makes Stardust Lilith a ¾ sister to the great German stallion Kostolany, “Stallion of the Year” in 2009.

Kostolany is a highly proven sire in the breed and is known for passing on equal talent in dressage as well as show jumping. As the sire of E.H. Gribaldi, Kostolany has stamped modern dressage horse breeding to quite an extent. Gribaldi’s offspring compete at the highest international level in dressage (e.g. Sisther de Jeu, Painted Black, Totilas). Another “wonder horse” of recent dressage, the delightful grey mare Matine, was also a Kostolany grand daughter via her sire Silvermoon. The list of impressive dressage horses is long, as is the list of approved Kostolany sons for the warmblood breeds worldwide. We would like to point out that Kostolany has also produced a number of very good show jumpers, and can be found as dam sire in the pedigrees of such versatile stallions as E.H. Kasparow (CIC** eventing and Prix St. Georg dressage) and Hirtentanz. With the proven talent of Enrico Caruso offspring in eventing (e.g. Pavarotti, Incantare) it comes as no surprise that Lily displays excellent form over fences and has an incredibly powerful canter.

More proof for the versatility of Enrico Caruso is the fact that his maternal half brother, El Greco TSF (by Fontainbleau out of Elchniederung) is a successful international *** eventing stallion in Europe!

Enrico Caruso's sire Mahagoni is one of the leading dressage producers and sired a number of important stallions: E.H. Bartholdy, Bütow *E*, the international Grand Prix dressage winner Chronos, the FEI dressage stallion Inspekteur, Mahon, the Olympic dressage star Peron TSF *Pg*, the S dressage winners E.H. Ravel and Radom - sire of E.H. Tuareg - and others. As a dam sire, he appears in the pedigrees of such stallions as the international Grand Prix dressage winner Kaiser Wilhelm TSF, the versatile producers Assistent and Amelio, the S level dressage stallions Epernay and Echantee, the CCI*** eventer and champion stallion Fontainbleau, the top dressage sire Ferrum, the famous producers Guter Stern (Champion NMS 1988) and Guter Planet (Res Champ NMS 1989), the younger Interconti, the S level dressage stallion Kantadou, the M level dressage stallion Pernambuco, the outstanding M level show jumper and M level dressage stallion Poker E, and the S level stallions Schampus and Silvermoon (sire of the above mentioned international GP mare Matine). Mahagoni's many daughters have established especially dressage-proven families. For example, the National Champion mare Kalinka XV established the family of the Grand Prix gelding Kavalier, the M level eventer Kato, and the two outstanding stallions Key West and K2 (FEI).

The origin of this extraordinary paternal family lies in the English TB breed. Pasteur xx was spotted by the late Georg Hoogen, and acquired for his world famous Vogelsangshof Stud as an improvement sire. He produced many excellent athletes, brood mares, and the two influential sons Mahagoni and E.H. Michelangelo.
