Boris’ approved son Borusse did find some entry into the Westfalian breed. Without doubt the most famous offspring of Boris was his daughter Donaulied vom Schimmelhof. She founded a strong branch of the big Donna family out of the main stud and her son Donauwind became a Trakehner of international format. Born and approved in Germany, he also stood at locations in Denmark and the US. Numerous sons and daughters of his were approved, and his grey son Abdullah became the all-time show jumper super star of the breed. Another approved son of Donaulied was Donaustein (by Malachit) and her daughter Donaumaid produced a strong branch of this family in North America via her daughter Donau Girl (by Mazagran), dam of the ATA approved Dichter. The Boris daughter Hortensie is dam of Hoheit IV, herself dam of Helena E who produced the ATA approved Hadrian.

Another approved son of Boris was Kompass, sire of Karat (who was a good match for the Zitzewitz family at Eileen Poole’s Meadowview Farm in Canada and is the dam sire of the ATA approved Zulu MV by EH Herzzauber) and sire of Konda II, dam of the good mare Karline, who produced the ATA approved Kovington by Enrico Caruso, a stallion who is also doing very well in the show ring.
